Pakistan cricket is at an all-time low as they became the first team in Test cricket to lose a match despite posting a 500+ total on the board in the first innings. The players are under the scanner and have received heavy criticism in the past few days.

There are even cries of removing Shan Masood as red-ball captain as he is yet to win a solitary game for Pakistan as a skipper since his appointment ahead of the Australia tour in 2023.

Ahmed Shehzad Takes A Dig At Pakistan

Several cricket pundits in Pakistan have slammed the Shan Masood-led side, who are yet to win a single Test this year. The latest to join the bandwagon is Ahmed Shahzad. The out-of-favour Pakistan batter has urged the side to watch Aamir Khan-starrer Lagaan released in 2001 and is based on a cricket match.

In the movie, local villagers lock horns against Britishers for a cricket match, with a stipulation of tax being revoked if the villagers win the match. Thus, Shehzad urged Pakistan to watch the movie and draw inspiration from that.

"For motivation, I suggest the Pakistan team should watch the Lagaan movie. The issue is that in the movie they had to pay it from their pockets. But you don't have to do this, Pakistan Cricket Board has to do it," Shehzad said on his YouTube channel.

Shan Masood Reflects On Pakistan's Defeat

“We’re obviously hurt by the results, hurt as a nation. But the beauty of the game is it always gives you another chance. Life gives you another chance. So the quick turnaround might be beneficial for us and we’re looking forward to it," remarked Masood after the defeat.

There are reports that the PCB is thinking of sacking Masood as Test skipper following a string of disappointing results despite a backing during connection camp.
