Rinku Singh exploded with a fiery 53-run knock from just 29 balls against Bangladesh in the second T20I of India’s three-match series at home. Batting at number five and arriving to the crease within the opening Powerplay, the hard-hitting middle-order batter smeared five boundaries and three sixes to blaze Team India to the brink of yet another 200-plus total in Delhi.

After the match, Rinku Singh admitted on constantly taking inputs from former Indian captain and legendary finisher MS Dhoni.

Batting at number five, Rinku Singh arrived to the middle at a time when Team India had slipped to 41-3 in 5.3 overs. At the precipice of a major batting collapse, the cricketer smeared 53 runs from just 29 balls to set up India’s 221-run total alongside fellow half-centurion Nitish Kumar Reddy.

After the match, Rinku credited former Indian captain and legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni for giving him valuable inputs regarding batting in tough situations.

India Take Unassailable Lead Of 2-0 In The Series

Apart from Rinku Singh, India’s number four batter Nitish Kumar Reddy launched four boundaries and seven sixes in his 34-ball 74 to lift Team India to 221-9 at the end of 20 overs. Hardik Pandya (32 off 19) and Riyan Parag (15 off 6) also added crucial runs to the total towards the death.

In response, the visiting Bangladesh team managed to list just 135-9 to fall 86 runs short of their target. Mahmudullah scored a sluggish 39-ball 41 to top-score for Bangladesh, after they slipped to 42-3 in 5.1 overs.

Indian bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Kumar Reddy claimed four wickets between them while Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav and Riyan Parag picked up a wicket each.

The two teams will now collide in the third and final T20I of their three-match series on October 12 at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
