India's rising star Nitish Reddy delivered an unforgettable performance in just his second T20 international, helping India secure a massive win against Bangladesh in the second T20I held in Delhi on October 9. At just 21 years old, Nitish Reddy is proving to be a valuable asset for Indian cricket, showcasing his all-round skills with both bat and ball.

India’s start was shaky after losing three wickets early during the powerplay, but Nitish Reddy stepped up when his team needed him the most. Walking in at a difficult moment, he played a blistering innings, smashing 74 runs off just 34 balls. 

His knock included four boundaries and seven massive sixes, breaking Rohit Sharma's record for most sixes in a T20I match between India and Bangladesh.

Reddy’s innings, along with Rinku Singh's 53 off 29 balls, helped India recover from the early blows. Together, they added 108 runs for the fourth wicket, setting up a solid foundation for the team to post a massive total of 221/9. Nitish wasn’t done after his batting heroics—he also picked up two wickets, adding to his already impressive performance. With this all-round display, Nitish became the first Indian cricketer to score more than 70 runs and take two wickets in a single T20I match.

His efforts earned him the Player of the Match award, and cricket fans are already comparing him to established all-rounders like Hardik Pandya. Nitish Reddy’s all-round performance is being hailed as a glimpse into the future of Indian cricket.

On the bowling front, India dominated the Bangladesh batting lineup. Arshdeep Singh’s early breakthrough put Bangladesh on the back foot, and they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Mahmudullah Riyad was the only Bangladeshi batter to offer some resistance, scoring 41 off 39 balls. However, his effort wasn’t enough as Bangladesh managed just 135/9 in their 20 overs.

India’s bowlers shared the workload, with Nitish, Varun Chakaravarthy, and others chipping in with crucial wickets. This dominant performance led to India winning by 86 runs, sealing the series 2-0 with one match to go.

The final T20I will be played Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on October 12, where India will aim for a clean sweep against Bangladesh.
