Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid has rubbished reports of any rift between the franchise and team captain Sanju Samson. Speaking with the reporters ahead of Rajasthan Royals’ upcoming home fixture against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the former Indian cricketer stated that even he and Samson are on the “same page” regarding the interests of the franchise.
It is worth noting that reports of a possible rift between Dravid and Samson went viral earlier this week, after Rajasthan Royals slipped to a thrilling Super Over defeat against IPL 2025 table-toppers Delhi Capitals in Delhi.
Rahul Dravid denies rift with Sanju Samson
While speaking with the reporters, Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid stated that all rumours of his “rift” with Sanju Samson were baseless, and claimed that he and the team captain are both on the same page. He said:
“I don't know where these reports are coming from. Sanju and I are on the same page.”
After Rajasthan Royals slipped to a Super Over defeat against Delhi Capitals, a viral video circulating on social media suggested that both Rahul Dravid and Sanju Samson may not be on talking terms with each other. The video in contention featured Samson roaming around casually while coach Dravid was giving a pep talk to the rest of the players.
Nonetheless, the Royals franchise is currently on a three-game losing streak, and is placed at number eight on the IPL 2025 points table with just two wins and five defeats from seven matches. Moreover, they are holding a dismal NRR of -0.714.
The Rajasthan Royals will now face the LSG on Saturday, April 19, and the action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
