Babar Azam seems to be setting himself up for a big score ahead of Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL 2025 match against the Multan Sultans. After registering scores of zero and one against Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United respectively, the struggling Pakistani batter took to the nets for an intense training session on Friday, April 18.

In a video circulating on social media, Babar can be seen hitting some big sixes as he bids to regain his lost touch with the bat.

Babar Azam goes big in a training session

In desperate need of some runs, Babar Azam took to the nets for an intense training session on April 18, i.e., a day before Peshawar Zalmi’s all-important match against fellow winless Multan Sultans team. In a minute-long video on social media, the cricketer can be seen regaining his timing as he belted some huge sixes with near-perfection.

Babar Azam is currently undergoing one of the worst phases of his batting career. The legendary Pakistani batter struck his last international century back in mid-2023, when he clubbed a match-winning 151 against Nepal at the 2023 Asia Cup.

The cricketer even failed to notch up crucial runs with the bat during Pakistan’s home ODI tri-series, and in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Even in the ongoing PSL 2025 season as the captain of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise, the 30-year-old has scored just a solitary run from two innings at a dismal batting average of 0.50.

With two losses in two games, and currently placed at the bottom of the PSL 2025 points table, Babar’s Peshawar Zalmi need to defeat Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans on April 19 at the Rawalpindi Stadium.
