In Match 8 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, Karachi Kings clashed with Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi. The Kings dominated the contest and secured a comprehensive 56-run victory after posting 175/7 and restricting Quetta to 119/9.
One of the most talked-about moments came in the 19th over of Quetta's innings when Hasan Ali dismissed Abrar Ahmed and mocked him with his own signature celebration, an exaggerated head-nod that became a viral moment from past Pakistan matches.
Hasan Ali fires friendly jibe at Abrar Ahmed
The moment arrived in the 18.4 over, as Hasan Ali bowled a full delivery on leg-stump. Abrar shuffled across and tried a wild swing but missed it entirely, allowing the ball to crash into the leg stump. What followed was pure entertainment.
Hasan Ali turned to Abrar shouting "Oye...", breaking into Abrar's famous head-tilting celebration, raising eyebrows, swaying side to side, (mimicing the gesture of "What hapenned now?") and then walked up and hugged the young spinner with a smile on both of their face.

Abrar Ahmed’s head-nod celebration first grabbed global attention during the 2025 Champions Trophy clash between India and Pakistan, where he used it after dismissing big names like Shubman Gill. It became his trademark and a source of pride for the young leggie. By flipping the script, Hasan gave Abrar a taste of his own medicine, adding friendly banter to an otherwise one-sided affair.
In the match, Hasan Ali played a key role in Karachi’s dominant bowling display. He returned figures of 3/27 in his four-over spell, removing Hasan Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay, and Abrar Ahmed. His early breakthroughs and the economy kept Quetta’s innings in check right from the start.
Karachi Kings Floor Gladiators With Dominance
Speaking of the match, batting first, Karachi Kings posted 175/7, powered by James Vince’s 70 off 47 balls and cameos from David Warner (31) and Mohammad Nabi (18).
In reply, Quetta Gladiators never recovered from their early collapse and stumbled to 119/9. Only Mohammad Amir’s late burst (30 off 16) offered some resistance. Mohammad Nabi also impressed with the ball, conceding just 7 runs and picking two wickets in four overs.
