Salt Over Livingstone? How RCB Made A Fool Of Themselves While Defending Vs PBKS

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had a low score to defend and for them to defend it, every decision had to be a tactical maserclass, but an inexperienced Rajat Patidar missed a big trick and it proved to be costly for the franchise as RCB lost their third match at home ground.

How RCB made a fool of themselves

The home side somehow managed to post 95/9, courtesy of a brilliant fifty by finisher Tim David. From the first innings, it was noted that the ball was gripping and turning as the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar took full advantage of it. However, judging by it, it was obvious that RCB would have kept as many spin options as possible to defend the total.

But to everyone's shock, Patidar brought in Manoj Bhandage as Impact Sub and replaced him with Liam Livingstone. Now, with the pitch turning and helping the spin bowlers, Livingstone would have been a bonus since he could have rolled his arms.

However, with him replaced, the home side had one bowler less and it put the pressure on the five designated RCB bowlers. Everyone knows that Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma have their set of weaknessess, hence, in this situation, RCB should have kept one more spinning option in the form of Livingstone and could have subbed off Phil Salt instead of Livi.

Another mistake by Patidar

Plus, another mistake was not using Bhandage. He is a designated all-rounder and is a handy bowler, and when the likes of Suyash and Krunal were going for runs, Patidar could have used Bhandage as the sixth bowling option.
