Karachi Kings turned up the heat under the Karachi lights as they outclassed Quetta Gladiators by 56 runs in Match 8 of PSL 2025. James Vince’s elegant 70, backed by explosive spells from Mohammad Nabi and Hasan Ali, set the tone for a dominant all-round performance.

Despite a fighting knock from captain Saud Shakeel and a late batting blitz from Mohammad Amir, Quetta never looked in the chase as their top order crumbled in the powerplay.

Here are Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators highlights from the PSL 2025 match in Karachi-

Warner and Seifert’s Powerplay Assault

Karachi Kings got off to a flyer thanks to Tim Seifert and David Warner, who wasted no time taking on the Quetta bowlers. The duo smashed 50 runs in just 4.5 overs, laying a solid foundation. Warner was the aggressor early on, scoring 31 off 20 balls with five boundaries, while Seifert added 27 off 15, striking at a blistering 180.00.

The opening partnership looked threatening before Abrar Ahmed dismissed David Warner, and Saud Shakeel removed Tim Seifert shortly after. But by then, Karachi were 62/2 after 6.2 overs.

Vince Anchors, Nabi Finishes

After a minor wobble in the middle with quick wickets of Riazullah (6) and Khushdil Shah (1), it was James Vince who took charge.

The Englishman played a composed yet attacking knock, scoring 70 off 47 balls, including six fours and a six and holding the innings together during the middle overs.

He found some late support from Mohammad Nabi, who chipped in with a handy 18 off 12 balls, including two sixes in the death overs. Despite some tight bowling from Ali Majid and Abrar Ahmed, Karachi managed to post a competitive 175/7 in their 20 overs.

Quetta Batting Collapse In The Powerplay

Quetta Gladiators’ chase never quite took off. Right from ball one, they were in hot water as Mir Hamza and Hasan Ali ripped through their top order. Finn Allen showed a spark with a first-ball six but fell the very next delivery. What followed was a procession; Hasan Nawaz (1), Khawaja Nafay (1), and Rilee Rossouw (1) all departed cheaply as Mohammad Nabi and Hasan turned the screws.

By the end of the powerplay, Quetta were 37/5, with Nabi’s guile and Hasan’s aggression slicing through the middle like a hot knife through butter.

Saud Anchors, Amir Fights, But Too Little Too Late

With wickets tumbling, Saud Shakeel had no choice but to play anchor. He tried to hold the innings together with a gritty 33 off 40, but the required rate kept climbing. Mohammad Amir, batting at No. 9, gave fans a surprise with a counter-attacking 30 off 16 balls, smacking two fours and three sixes to inject some life into a dead chase.

But the mountain was too steep. Abbas Afridi and Aamer Jamal cleaned up the tail, and Quetta could only manage 119/9 in their 20 overs, falling short by 56 runs.
