The second T20I between India and Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 9 began with a strategic decision by Bangladesh skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto, as he won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shanto cited the potential dew factor in the second innings as a key reason behind this choice.

He also noted that historically, high scores have been common at the venue, referencing both international and IPL matches played here.

"We will bowl first. The dew might come in the second innings. The pitch looks good for batting, so it’s essential for us to give our best. Our top order batters must step up and contribute tonight," Shanto said during the toss.

Bangladesh made one change to their lineup, bringing in Tanzim Hasan Sakib for Shoriful Islam. Meanwhile, India decided to stick with their winning combination from the first game, making no changes to their playing XI.

Suryakumar Yadav Challenges India's Bowling Wnit

India T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, revealed that his team was looking to bat first, as he wanted to challenge the bowling unit under potentially challenging conditions later in the game.

"No! We were looking to bat first. We did bowl in the first game. I spoke to the groundsmen, they said about dew. So, we wanted to challenge our bowling unit to deal with the wet ball. There is a lot of talent. No pressure going into the dressing room. I am just happy sitting back, playing them play.Absolutely, you have to do that. You have to be one step ahead of the opposition. It looks like a good pitch. Let us see how it goes." said Yadav.
