India vs New Zealand: 1st Innings Summary

Talking about the ongoing match, India started off on a negative note as skipper Rohit Sharma was the first one to depart after he stepped down the track, but his stumps were rattled. Since then, India lost wickets like dominos.

It is worth noting that five Indian batters registered a duck, which is the joint-most by Indian players at home. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, R Ashwin, Sarfaraz Khan, and Ravindra Jadeja were the ones who returned to the pavilion without scoring a solitary run.

Rishabh Pant was the leading run-scorer as he amassed 20 (49), which featured two boundaries. Talking about the bowlers, New Zealand seamers took advantage of the overcast conditions at Chinnaswamy.  Matt Henry was the pick of the bowler for his five-wicket haul, while William Rourke took four wickets. Tim Southee took a solitary wicket.
