The India vs. Bangladesh cricket match didn’t just bring action on the field but also a curious moment afterward. India won convincingly in Gwalior, but the spotlight shifted off the pitch when head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen having a long and lively conversation with spinner Varun Chakaravarthy.

Following the match, the cameras panned towards India head coach Gautam Gambhir and Varun Chakaravarthy, who were spotted chatting seriously. This wasn’t just small talk—it looked like Gambhir, who worked with Varun in the Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2024 season, was giving him some crucial advice. Bowling coach Morne Morkel also joined in, adding to the conversation.

The scene caught the attention of former India coach Ravi Shastri, who was left guessing what the trio was talking about during his commentary on JioCinema.

Shastri, trying to figure out the nature of their chat, said,

“You can see Varun Chakaravarthy having a chat with Gautam Gambhir. He took three wickets. Gautam could have seen a lot of him at KKR as well. He's probably just telling him about either the pace at which he was bowling, or the fields which he should bowl. Morne Morkel, the bowling coach, is also there and he will tactically add a lot to Varun's game.”

Varun Chakaravarthy Returns To Indian Team After 1066 Days

Varun Chakaravarthy’s return to the Indian team was nothing short of impressive. After being out of the squad for 1,066 days, his comeback saw him take his career-best figures of 3/31, helping India win by 7 wickets in the opening T20I match against Bangladesh.

Though Varun's first over wasn’t the best, as he gave away 15 runs, he bounced back quickly. He took his first wicket in his second over, dismissing Towhid Hridoy, and continued to build his momentum. By the end of the match, Varun had made a strong statement with his stellar performance.
