Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath demonstrated his cricket skills at the iconic Ekana Stadium on Sunday, October 6. Present at the venue to inaugurate the 36th All India Advocates’ Cricket Tournament, the politician was spotted engaging with participants for a couple of deliveries, as captured in a viral video.

During the inauguration, the UP CM also signified the importance of team work in sports, and highlighted the state’s commitment of supporting athletes.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 36th All India Advocates’ Cricket Tournament, unveiled the trophy and also posed with the competing captains at the Ekana Stadium. Moreover, he also tested out his cricket skills by facing a few deliveries, as captured on a viral video.


Yogi Adityanath additionally spoke about the welfare measures at the advocates event, including raising the Advocate Welfare Fund to Rs.500 crores. He further talked about increasing the compensation for the deceased advocates’ families from Rs.1.5 lakh to Rs.5 lakh.

Meanwhile, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, or simply, the Ekana Stadium, will soon be hosting the Elite Group C matches of the 2024 Ranji Trophy season. Home team Uttar Pradesh will start off by facing Bengal at the venue on October 11 for a four-day match until October 14.
