In a remarkable achievement, England's prominent batter Joe Root has attained his career-best rating in the updated ICC Test rankings. The talismanic batter's astounding performance in the Pakistan Tests helped him earn a career-high rating of 932, nine points more than his previous best. 

Notably, only sixteen players, including Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli, have recorded a higher rating point than 932 in the history of Test cricket.

As expected, Joe Root had a stellar start to the Pakistan series, amassing a glorious double ton in the first Test at Multan Cricket Stadium. Coming at three, the stylish right-handed batter hammered 262 runs off just 375 deliveries, helping England post a record-breaking 823-run total in their first innings. His extraordinary performance helped Root achieve the aforementioned feat, establishing his name among the greats of the game.

Meanwhile, Root's partner-in-crime Harry Brook, who unleashed sheer carnage to stun Pakistan with a triple hundred, moved eleven places up, sharing the second position with Kane Williamson. From India's perspective, wily leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has made progress in the T20I bowlers rankings, moving up four rungs to share the eighth position with Fazalhaq Farooqi. Among others, Gudakesh Motie (up two spots to second) and Maheesh Theekshana (up five places to fifth) have made notable gains following their exploits in the ongoing West Indies vs Sri Lanka T20Is.
