The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League will see a major change in the team dynamics. This is why, the tournament has already created a buzz among the fans. The hot topic of discussion for the past few months has been about players each team will retain.

Here is a look at the retention list of all the teams as per reports by PTI. We will also take a look at the purse remaining for the team if the report realises.

Mumbai Indians

As per the report Mumbai Indians will retain - Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

If they retain these players then their purse of INR 120 Cr will get reduced by - INR (18+14+11+18) = 61 Cr. So, the five time champions will go into the auction with the a purse of INR (120 - 61) = 59 Cr.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals will retain - Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Jake Fraser-McGurk/ Kuldeep Yadav as pert the reports.

If this turns true the they will spend INR (18+14+11) = 43 Cr before the auction. Thus they will have a purse of INR (120-43) = 77 Cr.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings are to go for one retention and that will be of Arshdeep Singh as per the report.

Thus, the Kings will spend INR 18 Cr in retention and have a purse of INR (120-18) = 102 Cr.

Lucknow Super Giants

The report suggests that LSG will be retaining three players. They will be retaining - Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav and Ayush Badoni/Mohsin Khan. Among these three both Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan are uncapped players.

So, LSG will have to spend INR (18+14+4) = 36 Cr for retention. Thus, the franchise will go with INR (120-34) = 86 Cr into the auction.

Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings will reportedly retain - Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni might be an uncapped retention.

So, the CSK will have to spend - INR (18+14+11+4) = 47 Cr. Hence, they will have INR (120 - 47) = 73 Cr.

Gujarat Titans

The Titans will probably retain - Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan. GT's retention expense will then amount to INR (18+14) = 32 Cr. Therefore, the purse for Gujarat will be - INR (120-32) = 88 Cr.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The IPL 2024 runner-up will reportedly retain three players. These three players might be - Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.

If SRH do go with three retentions, then they will have to spend INR (18+14+11) = 43 Cr. Therefore they will have INR (120-43) = 77 Cr in their purse during the auction.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals will reportedly go in with three retentions. These three players could be - Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel.

RR's retention expense will be - INR (18+14+11) = 43 Cr. In this case, the Royals will have a purse of INR (120-43) = 77 Cr.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The defending champions are expected to retain - Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. If this holds true then, KKR will have to spend INR (18+14+11)= 43 Cr ahead of the auction. The remaining purse amount for them will be INR (120-43) = 77 Cr.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru might retain - Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Mohammed Siraj. In this case, RCB's retention expense will be INR (18+14+11) = 43 Cr. If they go with this strategy then RCB's purse will be - INR (120-43) = 77 Cr for the mega auction.
