Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson unleashed carnage on Bangladesh bowler Rishad Hossain to slam five sixes off the 10th over in the third T20I. Following a century off 40 balls, Samson revealed that recreating Yuvraj Singh’s iconic 6 sixes moment has been on his mind for a while.

Sanju Samson went ballistic in the third T20I against Bangladesh last night, as he made the most of his opportunity to open the innings. Samson hit every bowler that came in his sight, especially Rishad Hossian, who got hit for as many as five sixes in the 10th over of the first innings. After a dot off the first ball, Sanju went on to score 5 back-to-back sixes, leading to a 30-run massive over for India.

That instant surge helped Sanju Samson complete his century off just 40 balls, which is the second fastest ton by an Indian player in T20Is.

Sanju Samson aims high after blistering knock vs Bangladesh

Following the blockbuster innings, Sanju Samson revealed that hitting six maximums in an over had been something he had been practising and preparing for a while.

“I know what I can do to a spinner. So, I just wanted to hit maximum runs in that over. I have been thinking that I can hit six 6s in an over. I am not joking. I have been working accordingly with my coaches," Samson said.

He added that the thought of accomplishing such a feat wasn’t just a fleeting idea but something he had consistently worked on with his coaches. Regardless, hitting 5 fixes was also not a small feat, and he enjoyed hitting the spinners on Hyderabad's batting-friendly wicket.

"I have been practicing and visualising for that. I am very grateful that it finally happened,” he signed off," he added.

Samson goes past Pant, Dhoni to achieve a remarkable feat

Sanju Samson, the 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Kerala, played an unforgettable knock against Bangladesh in the third T20I, smashing 111 runs off just 47 balls. This blistering performance marked his maiden T20I century and set a new benchmark as the first Indian wicketkeeper to achieve a century in T20Is. He struck 11 boundaries and sent eight deliveries flying over the ropes, reaching his century in just 40 balls, which is the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian.
