Sanju Samson is one of the most popular figures in Indian cricket despite him being not a regular in the Indian side. The reason for it is his immense talent that has mesmerized fans and former cricketers over the years. His consistency has been a bit of issue, but has not got regular chances either and it has not helped his confidence. 

Gautam Gambhir is one of the prominent names who has always supported Sanju Samson and now as a head coach his backing has worked wonders for the Kerala batter as he smashed his maiden T20I century against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on October 12th. In the two T20I series under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir, Sanju Samson opened the innings. 

Though he could not score a single run against Sri Lanka, the management backed him for the Bangladesh series. He could not convert his starts in the initial two matches, but he made sure that he grabbed the final opportunity with both hands and blasted 111 off just 47 balls to start a new chapter in his international career.

Sanju Samson revealed after the match that he was told three weeks before the series that he would open the innings and credited Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir for backing him. So, let's now look at some of Gautam Gambhir's viral posts on X.com that show his love for Sanju Samson.

Sanju Samson's IPL Fireworks Impress Gautam Gambhir

The first post came on 29th of March 2019 after Sanju Samson smashed 102 off 55 balls in an IPL game between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gambhir in that post said that Sanju Samson is the best wicketkeeper batter in India and should bat at number 4 in the 50-over World Cup that was just few months away in England. 

The next two viral posts came after Sanju Samson smashed 74 off just 32 balls against Chennai Super Kings. He hit nine sixes in that IPL game on September 22, 2020 and Gautam Gambhir stated that Sanju Samson is not just the best wicketkeeper batter in India but the best young batter in the country.

On the same day, Gambhir also questioned his non-selection in the Indian team and took a dig at the selectors for not backing a talent like him. Few days later, he replied to Shashi Tharoor when the Kerala MP posted that Sanju Samson can be the next MS Dhoni. Gambhir replied back by saying that Samson does not need to become like anyone and he will be 'Sanju Samson of Indian Cricket.'

Also, after Sanju Samson's century against South Africa, Gambhir mentioned that it would kickstart his international career. So, Gambhir has always backed Sanju Samson, and the stylish right-handed wicketkeeper batter finally lived upto his billing with a breakthrough century in Hyderabad.
