In a significant development around IPL 2025, there are reports that Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to release marquee international players going into IPL 2025 auctions including Bhuvneshwar Kumar. 

According to reports from SportsYaari, the channel claimed that as per their exclusive inside scoop, the 2024 IPL finalists are looking to release ex-captain Aiden Markram, and star Indian bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik. 

Lack Of Impact Key Reason Behind SRH's Decision

Sunrisers Hyderabad underwent several changes last year for good that saw them reach the finals. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Pat Cummins were a few key pioneers behind the success, but the likes of Markram and Umran Malik spent most of the season on the bench. 

Markram led the Men in Orange till IPL 2023 but was replaced by Cummins. Meanwhile, Umran, who was SRH's top retention a couple of years ago, has played just nine matches in the last two seasons. 

Tough Time For Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also going through a rough patch with the ball as Bhuvi took just 11 wickets in 16 matches last season, his worst edition since IPL 2021. 

Talking about the economy, Bhuvi registered his worst economy rate in IPL 2024 since his debut in the cash-studded league. The right-arm seamer is going through a tough time as he was recently not named in Uttar Pradesh's squad for the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. 

Meanwhile, the report further stated that SRH are looking to retain Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Nitish Reddy. However, Cummins is yet to confirm his participation in IPL 2025 as he recently spoke in depth about the change in rules for the upcoming season and remarked that Test cricket is the No.1 priority for him.

Talking about IPL 2025, the reports mention that the last date to submit the retention list is October 31.
