In a significant development, Australia Women have won the toss and elected to bat first against India Women in their final group-stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup. During the toss, Australia Women's skipper Tahlia McGrath stated that they would bat first, considering Sharjah's playing conditions.

The Aussies have made two changes, replacing the injured duo of Alyssa Healy and Tayla Vlaeminck with Grace Harris and Darcie Brown, respectively. Meanwhile, India have brought fast-bowling allrounder Pooja Vastrakar in place of Sajeevan Sajana.

Tahlia McGrath stated,

"We are gonna bat first. We will try to put a good total on the board. We are lucky that it's our third game here. We have adapted to the conditions really well and looking forward to this game today. It's play-on at the moment. We have got an important game ahead of us and we will get behind them later on. Grace and Darcie come into the line-up today."

Harmanpreet Unperturbed By The Toss Result

Meanwhile, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur reckoned that they would try to execute some specific plans against the mighty Aussies. She seemed unperturbed by the toss result, showing confidence on her troops' ability to put up a spirited performance in the must-win affair.

"Well, its absolutely fine, we want to restrict them to a low total and chase it down as soon as possible. We had two practice sessions here, tried to assess the conditions as much as possible. We have made a few plans for this game, so hopefully we can execute them," Harmanpreet said.

"We have the confidence to beat them and we have done it in the past also. Today it is a very important game so we want to play our best cricket. We have 1 change in our XI, Pooja Vastrakar comes back into the XI in place of Sajeevan Sajana," she added.
