In a significant development, South Africa Women have won the toss and elected to bat first in their second group-stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Both teams registered thumping wins in their respective last game, so we expect a nail-biter in Sharjah tonight.

During the toss, South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt stated that they would bat first considering the slowness of the surface.

"We would like to bat first today. Looks a bit slower and hopefully, we'll put a good total on the board. Nice to get the win first up. It will be about carrying forward the winning momentum. We were good in the powerplay in the first game. Looking forward to repeating it tonight. No changes. We are going with the same team," she said.

South Africa Women had a magnificent start to the tournament, swatting aside West Indies Women in their opening game. So, they must be keen to extend their dream run and claim the top spot in the points table.

England Women Keep An Unchanged XI Vs South Africa

Meanwhile, England Women's skipper Heather Knight reckoned that they would've batted first as well, keeping the playing conditions in mind. However, she showed confidence on her troops' ability to put up a solid performance against the in-form Proteas.

"We would have done the same as well. We obviously know the conditions well, it will play the same as it was the other night and I think we bowled brilliantly that game. Yeah certainly, the conditions got tougher for us to bat but we have worked upon it and have to do better against a strong side like South Africa," Knight stated.

"With the ball I think we were really good the other night, its time to do well with the bat. Oh they are a really quality side so hopefully we have a good game. We are going with the same team," she added.
