The cricketing world has seen Mohammad Amir rip stumps, fire in the yorkers. But on Friday night in Karachi, fans saw a different side of Mohammad Amir, the batter who wasn’t ready to go down without a fight.
Mohammad Amir’s Late-Cameo Sixes Light Up Karachi Despite Quetta Defeat
While Quetta Gladiators crashed and burned in their chase against Karachi Kings, Amir walked in at 57/7, when all hope had pretty much left the stadium. But instead of just surviving, the left-arm pacer decided to swing for the fences and he connected.
On the third ball of the 15th over, bowled by Khushdil Shah, Amir smacked a boundary to midwicket. One ball later, he stepped out and sent one flying over deep mid-wicket for a big six. Then came the cherry on top with a monster six over long-on off the final ball of the over.
Mohammad Amir eventually smashed 30 off 16 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, proving once again that there’s always something dramatic when he is at the crease.

Not Just Muscle, Amir Delivered With The Ball Too
Earlier in the evening, Amir did what he’s known for, picking up wickets in the powerplay and keeping batters honest. He finished with figures of 2/42 in 4 overs, dismissing both James Vince (70) and Mohammad Nabi (18), two batters who had their foot on the gas.
But even that couldn’t stop the Kings from posting 175/7, thanks to a Vince special and some solid middle-order hits.
Karachi Kings won the match by 56 runs and Quetta were never really in the chase. But if there was a silver lining for Gladiators fans, it was watching Amir bring the fight till the end.
