On a flat track of Multan, Jack Leach showed his class and picked up 4-wickets to rattle the home team, Pakistan. The surface had nothing to offer for the spinners and Leach was at his imperial best, dismantling the Pakistan side to inflict a crushing defeat.

The off-spinner picked up 1 wicket on Day 4, and he scalped his remaining three on the final day as Pakistan once again crumbled, this time after scoring more than 550 runs. He scalped the wickets of Saud Shakeel, Salman Agha, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah.

However, the best of the lot was the wicket of Shaheen, where Leach showed his reflexes and plucked out a stunning catch to end Shaheen's stay at the crease.

Leach bowled a tossed-up delivery and Shaheen goes for a wild slog, but he struck from the toe-end of the bat as the ball swiftly goes towards the left of Leach, who was already on his follow-through and had to react quickly. The England skipper showed brilliant reflexes as he moved low to his left and grabbed the ball quickly to dismiss Shaheen Afridi.

England seal the Multan Test as Pakistan embarrassed

Pakistan became the first team in Test history to lose a match by an innings after scoring more than 550 runs in the first innings. They haven't won a single Test match since July 2023, and the team has been dismal under Shan Masood.

Despite scoring in excess of 550, Pakistan bowlers broke all records as they allowed England to smash 823 in their first innings, with Joe Root scoring a double century and Harry Brook becoming the sixth Englishman to score a triple century.

In reply, Pakistan batters struggled in the second innings and barring Salman Agha, no one stood tall as the team lost by an innings and 47 runs.
