Team India’s ODI and Test captain, Rohit Sharma, is all set to lead his side in the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand. With the series set to kick off on October 16 in Bengaluru, Rohit has been spotted in intense training sessions at the Reliance Corporate Park Cricket Ground in Mumbai.

Rohit’s last appearance was during the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Though India won the series 2-0, Rohit struggled to find his rhythm with the bat, managing to score just 42 runs across four innings at an average of 10.50. His strike rate, however, was still solid at 95.45, reflecting his aggressive approach. Despite his disappointing performance in that series, Rohit has now turned his focus to the New Zealand series, determined to get back to his best.

In the training video, fans witnessed a playful interaction that showcased Rohit’s candid nature. When someone suggested hitting a six off the first ball, Rohit, being his witty self, responded with “Pagal ho kya?,” drawing laughter from those around him. Amid the light-heartedness, Rohit was also seen practicing his trademark shots, displaying a balance of focus and fun.

Rohit Sharma Likely To Miss First Test In Australia

As Rohit continues his preparations, there are also concerns about his participation in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian captain has informed the BCCI that he may miss the first Test of the series against Australia, which begins on November 22 at Perth Stadium. Rohit is reportedly dealing with a personal matter, and while no official confirmation has been made, his absence could be a significant loss for the team.
