India women are playing their second game of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 against their arch-rivals, Pakistan. The match is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It is a must-win game for India, as they lost their first match against New Zealand women. If India wants to go ahead in the competition, they need to win all their games now by convincing margins. On the other hand, Pakistan is in a better position, as they made a strong start against Sri Lanka in the tournament. The Fatima Sana-led side will also eye wins in their remaining games to be the second team from the group to qualify for the semis.

Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss

Fatima Sana, the Pakistan team captain, won the toss ahead of this match and opted to bat first. So far in this tournament, the team batting first has had the advantage in the games. The wickets have tended to slow down with the match's progress, making batting more challenging. Considering these factors, Sana decided to make India chase in this game.

Pakistan would have hoped for a steady start from their openers, Muneeba Ali and Gul Feroza. However, the Indian seamer, Renuka Singh Thakur ensured that the opening partnership of Pakistan did not last long. Renuka bowled a magical delivery on the last delivery of the first over to send Feroza back to the hut.

Renuka Singh gave India a dream start

It was a good-length delivery that moved in from the fourth stump line. Feroza was caught in the crease trying to defend the ball. It sneaked in through the gap between the bat and the pads, ending Feroza's stay in the middle.

At the time of writing India have picked up another wicket and Pakistan are in a spot of bother at 25/2 after five overs.
