After his stint in LLC 2024, Suresh Raina has joined the NY Lions in NCL 2024. He is leading the team in the tournament and took his fans down memory lane with audacious shot-making in the second match of the tournament. 

The NY Lions were taking on the LA Waves in the second match of the NCL 2024. The Waves won the toss and opted to field first in the game. The Lions lost Asad Shafiq early in the innings. At the fall of the first wicket, skipper Raina walked out into the middle. 

Suresh Raina Guides The Lions To A Formidable Total

Suresh Raina stitched a destructive 89-run partnership with the ex-Sri Lankan international Upul Tharanga and propelled the Lions towards a formidable total. During his stay in the middle, Raina slammed six fours and three boundaries. He remained unbeaten on 53 off 28 deliveries. Tharanga (40 off 23) and Raina's effort took the Lions to 126/4 at the end of their 10 overs. 

The veteran Indian batter's knock reminded the fans of his days as a regular cricketer. Suresh Raina was known for his destructive hitting abilities and has been the hero of many a win for India and his IPL team, CSK. 

The LA Waves Failed To Go Past The Target

The LA Waves lost an early wicket in the chase, but opener Adam Rossington showed great resilience and fought for the team. Apart from Rossington, the other batters played small cameos that got the waves close to the target but were not enough to take them past the finishing line. The Lions restricted the Waves to 107/7 in 10 overs and won the match by 19 runs. Shaurya Gaur was the pick of the Lions' bowlers, with 3/18 in his two overs.
