In a significant development, Pakistan Women have won the toss and elected to bat first against arch-rivals India Women in their second group-stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup. During the toss, Pakistan Women's captain Fatima Sana stated that they would bat first, considering the nature of the surface.

"We want to bat first. We want to post a good total on the board. We have one change. (On Diana Baig) I think she is well. She is under treatment. Hopefully, she will be back for the next game. We did well to win the last game and try to repeat it today. We will try to post a maximum total on the board. I'm excited for today's game."

India Women Replace Pooja Vastrakar With Sajeevan Sajana

Meanwhile, India Women's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur revealed that they would've batted first as well. The talismanic cricketer also confirmed a solitary change in India's playing XI, with Pooja Vastrakar missing out due to a niggle and making room for Sajeevan Sajana.

"Well we were also looking to bat first but I think in the previous game we watched West Indies Women batting first, so we want to restrict them to a low total today. We have one change in our XI, Pooja Vastrakar in not playing today, she has a niggle and Sajeevan Sajana replaces her. See at this stage, we have to look forward, talk about the positive things and bounce back in the tournament. We want to play positive cricket today."

Notably, India would be desperate to register their first win, having lost their opening game against New Zealand at the same venue.
