Pakistan's promising batter Kamran Ghulam registered a failure with the bat, being dismissed cheaply in the second innings of the ongoing Test against England in Multan. Batting at number four, Ghulam departed for 29 runs, as experienced English spinner Jack Leach made him his victim.

The incident occurred during the 21st over of Pakistan's second innings when Kamran Ghulam was trying to steady the ship alongside Saud Shakeel following Saim Ayub's dismissal. However, Jack Leach put an end to his brief stay, trapping him plumb in front of the stumps.

Leach had a poor start to the over though, conceding consecutive boundaries to Kamran Ghulam on his second and third deliveries. However, after bowling a no ball, the left-arm spinner redeemed himself, getting rid of Ghulam with a classical arm ball.

From around the wicket, Leach bowled an arm ball that came back into Ghulam after pitching around the off stump. As Kamran Ghulam took a forward stride to play a defensive shot, the ball beat him on his inside edge and struck him on his front pad.

As the English players appealed for a leg-before, the on-field umpire raised his finger, declaring Ghulam out without hesitation. Although the batter went upstairs and challenged the decision, the TV umpire upheld the on-field call after discovering three reds in the HawkEye.

Thus, Kamran Ghulam, who slammed a fantastic century in his maiden Test outing, perished for 26 runs in this innings.

Multan Test Inches Towards A Thrilling Finish

In response to Pakistan's first innings total of 366 runs, England managed 291 runs on the board, with Sajid Khan dismantling them with a seven-wicket haul. However, the English spinners joined the party on day three, troubling the host batters with their guile and accuracy. Shoaib Bashir's clinical three-fer has reduced Pakistan to 96 for four, with Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan batting on 19* and 10*, respectively.
