In a historic achievement, Pakistan's Sajid Khan has achieved a phenomenal milestone in the 2nd Test between Pakistan and England at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. He becomes the second off-spinner from the nation to take a five-wicket haul at home.

Interestingly, before his remarkable achievement, it was Saqlain Mushtaq who became the first ever off-spinner from Pakistan to take a five-for at home. This too, came against England at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 2000.

Sajid Khan Achieves A Unique Milestone

Despite scoring a 550+ score in the first Test, the team failed to win as they crumbled under pressure in the second innings. As a result of which, Shan Masood-led side made some notable changes for the second Test, which included dropping Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah and injured Abrar Ahmed. The 31-year-old bowler, Sajid Khan, hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, came in as a replacement and indeed did some brilliant wonders for his team.

Sajid Khan Gets Big England Fishes

On Day 1, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. After a poor start and loss of wickets right at the start, debutant Kamran Ghulam and young opener Saim Ayub anchored Pakistan’s faltering innings on the opening day. While the first day belong to the batters; Sajid Khan was quick to jump into the scene and shake the world of England on Day 2 and then eventually on Day 3 as well.

He first removed Ollie Pope for 29 runs with a peach of a delivery followed by Joe Root, who was forced to walk back after scoring 34 runs. For a while, the storm seemed settled up until Sajid roared yet again by sending centurion Ben Duckett back to the pavillion after a brilliant innings of 114 off 129 balls.

However, he did not stop there as he made sure he hammered another nail in the coffin by removing Harry Brook for just nine runs. He continued his brilliance on Day 3, as he claimed a well-deserved five-for after taking the wicket of Brydon Carse. Eventually, he ended England's first innings by bagging two more in his kitty i.e. Matthew Potts and Shoaib Bashir and they were bundled out for 291/10 in 67.2 overs.
