The on-going Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to host its 12th match between India and Sri Lanka at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Wednesday, October 9th.

India Women Struggle To Stay afloat As Mission Sri Lanka Knocks Their Door

Harmanpreet Kaur's led side started the tournament on the wrong foot after losing their first game when New Zealand defeated India Women by 58 runs in their first match. The fundamental cause of India's thrashing defeat was their poor batting display before New Zealand's massive score 160/4.

The batting of India Women got off to a terrible start as Shafali Verma was dismissed for just two runs. Then, during the powerplay, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (15) and Smriti Mandhana (12) left the team at three wickets down before it even had a chance to settle down.

The innings never increased as the wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. India was bowled out for 102 as an over remained, thus making the beginning of the tournament look pretty disappointing. However, they did bounce back strong as they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by six wickets. Hence, they would be hoping to continue this momentum especially against Sri Lanka, who were recently scripted history by handing the Women In Blue a defeat in the Asia Cup 2024 final.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has suffered two back to back losses and so far have had a terrible World Cup campaign. Both the teams are in hot water with respect to their NRR, they would hope to come back stronger in order to advance further in the tournament.

As the two prepare to meet one another, let's take a look at the weather report.
