On October 18, Pakistan ended their winless run at home and registered their first win in Pakistan in nearly four years after they beat England by 152 runs in the 2nd Test to level the series 1-1.

It was a Noman Ali and Sajid Khan show at the Multan Stadium as the spin duo took all 20 wickets to shock England, who failed to read the spin. In the recently concluded match, Ben Stokes returned to red-ball cricket after his injury during The Hundred 2024.

It was a disastrous outing for Stokes as nothing went in England's favour. It was a frustrating Test for the Three Lions, particularly, Stokes, who failed to score runs and got out in the bizarre manner.

Ben Stokes' On-Field Outburst Against Pakistan

Talking about Stokes, he opened up on the 2nd Test and admitted to acting like a grumpy old man as he had an outburst of emotions on-field after England's poor show in the field. It is worth noting that England dropped three crucial catches in the 2nd innings and that proved to be major turning point in the match.

“It’s the first time in my captaincy that I’ve let my emotions show in my body language, with how I was feeling as the game was unfolding,” he said.

Ben Stokes Apologises To The England Group

In the latest events, Stokes also admitted to apologising to his England teammates and assured them of not repeating his mistake.

“I apologised to the group and said that was poor of me. I was a tired and grumpy old man last night. You won’t see that happen again. I owned up to that and I’m very annoyed at myself for letting that out. It’s something that I don’t want to do or be seen to be doing. No one means to drop catches, but it just proves how important catches are out in these subcontinent conditions because they don’t come along that often,” he remarked.

England will take on Pakistan for the 3rd Test on October 24 at the Rawalpindi Stadium.
