The New Zealand assignment rings the bell at Team India's door for the highly anticipated three-match Test series starting from October 16 at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

India's bowling great, Ravichandran Ashwin previewed the upcoming series. In the video uploaded by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on X formerly known as Twitter, Ashwin is heard talking about the nature of Test cricket and how each start varies with adaptability at the focal point of it all.

“See, test cricket is constantly about adaptability, right? You can’t start day five like how you start day one. Every day, you need to be able to adapt along with conditions. That’s why they say test cricket is the pinnacle of this particular sport,” Ashwin said in the clip.

Bumrah Dethrones Ashwin

In an interesting turn of events, India's Jasprit Bumrah has reached the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings, displacing Ravichandran Ashwin with a magnificent performance against Bangladesh. In two matches, 11 wickets saw Bumrah go to the top, and he trails by one rating point at 869. Bumrah’s impressive 870 rating points reflect his remarkable skill and consistency on the field.

India Aims to Maintain Momentum Ahead of BGT 2024-25

Riding on their high horse after their recent victory over Bangladesh both in Test cricket and T20s, India are on a high. They would hope to continue this good form and momentum ahead of the ever-so crucial Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

India, the current table toppers, are poised for their third consecutive WTC Final. A 4-1 series victory over Ben Stokes’ England at home, coupled with a 2-0 win against Bangladesh, has positioned the Men in Blue favourably. To secure their spot in the final, India needs just three wins from their remaining eight matches.
