It's time for the summit clash of Women's T20 World Cup 2024! It has been a fantastic tournament full of surprises and we have South Africa up against New Zealand in the grand finale. Both teams have never won the T20 World Cup so far, and it promises to be an intense affair with a roller-coaster of emotions on show at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

SA-W vs NZ-W: Team Previews

South Africa Women

South Africa Women have been brilliant throughout the tournament and created history in the semifinal by beating mighty Australians. They have lost just one game in this World Cup so far and are into their second consecutive final in the T20 World Cup. They are a much more experienced team this time, and with confidence of beating Australia in the semifinal they would be looking to lift the trophy.

Their skipper Laura Wolvaardt has led from the front with 190 runs in five matches. The second in the list is other opener Tanzim Brits while Anneke Bosch delivered a knockout punch while batting at number 3 against Australia with her brilliant 74 off 48 balls. It shows how dominant their top 3 have been and have played a big role in their success.

The middle order boasts of quality all-rounders like Marizanne Kapp, Chloe Tryon, Sunne Luus and Nadine de Klerk and it provides them with great depth in both batting and bowling department. Nonkululeko Mlaba is their leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets in five matches. So, with players in form and quality in their arsenal, South Africa look set to deliver another strong performance.

New Zealand Women

White Ferns, on the other hand, are coming into the final on the back of a close win against West Indies. They also lost only one game in this World Cup, and it came against Australia, so they, too, played good cricket and are playing their first final after 2010. There are plenty of superstars in their line-up with likes of Sophie Devine,  Amelia Kerr and Suzie Bates forming a formidable trio. Kerr is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 12 wickets in five matches and she would be crucial at number 3 with the bat as well.

Georgia Plimmer is their leading wicket-taker and her aggressive approach has played a key role in New Zealand's success while Eden Carson, Lea Tahuhu and Rosemary Mair have done well with the ball. So, New Zealand have the arsenal to lift the cup and it is all about who delivers on the big stage under pressure. Also, White Ferns have an upper hand against the Proteas Women with seven wins in 10 matches and let's see how the final unfolds.

SA-W vs NZ-W: Sharjah Pitch Report

The pitches in this World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium have been slow and low. Overall, the average first innings total at the venue is 129 and both spinners and pacers have enjoyed the conditions here. The pacers who will vary their pace and bowl stump-to-stump line are likely to get more help from the surface. The batters would have to apply themselves in the middle and any score above 150 in the first innings would be challenging for the chasing team.
