The Women's T20 World Cup group featuring India has become interesting after New Zealand's big win over struggling Sri Lankan side. Sri Lanka, who have not won a single game in the tournament, were playing as a party spoiler in the match against New Zealand, but they were taken apart easily.

The Chamari Athapaththu led side batted first and couldn't post a big total, scoring only 115/5 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, the White Ferns made a mockery of the total and chased down the target inside 18 overs, making India's path to the semi-finale, a lot more tougher.
