Skipper Shreyas Iyer left the field midway during PBKS match against RCB on Sunday, sparking concerns among fans. The incident occurred during the seventh over of RCB’s 158-run chase at the Mullanpur stadium, when Shreyas Iyer unexpectedly walked off the field due to feeling unwell.
Shreyas Iyer Gives Massive Update On His Health
With his absence in a critical phase of the match, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis stepped in as the acting captain. The timing of Iyer’s exit raised eyebrows, especially with PBKS defending a modest total of 157.
At the post-match presentation, he addressed the situation and offered a reassuring update on his condition.
"It is good. Just a minor niggle. I feel, I should be fine after this game. Yeah, I feel majority of our batters look to go big from ball one. We are not able to assess the conditions. The wicket is getting slower and slower in the afternoon game. We weren't able to get to a total we can defend. We are getting starts but just not able to set a total which we could have defended.
Virat Kohli Guides RCB To Victory vs PBKS
As for the match itself, RCB cruised to a seven-wicket win, thanks to dominant half-centuries from Virat Kohli (73*) and Devdutt Padikkal (61). Their 103-run opening stand laid the foundation for a comfortable chase, completed with seven balls to spare.
Earlier, Punjab struggled to build momentum despite a fiery 17-ball 33 from Prabhsimran Singh, as RCB spinners Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) dismantled the middle order.
With this win, RCB continue their push up the points table at the third position, while PBKS are left searching for answers after another underwhelming performance.
