The T20 format never fails to surprise the fans with its power-packed entertainment, and the ongoing IPL 2025 is a living example of that. Amidst fierce competition between ten determined teams, the Delhi Capitals have stolen the spotlight with their unstoppable form, ruling the tournament with flair and fire.
However, Jake Fraser McGurk’s persistent struggle has become a massive concern for DC. Ahead of their crucial face-off against Gujarat Titans, Aakash Chopra has chipped in with some timely advice to fix the issue.
Chopra Bats For du Plessis’ Comeback
Known for exceptional hitting skills, Australian youngster Jake Fraser McGurk has struggled with his form since the beginning of the tournament. In six innings, he has scored just 55 runs, letting DC down on multiple occasions.
As the team is all set to step up into the next encounter against Gujarat Titans, former Indian star Aakash Chopra came up with a suggestion to overcome the precarious situation.
He advocated for Jake Fraser-McGurk's axing while also urging the inclusion of Faf du Plessis if he's available. Playing in just three matches, du Plessis scored 81 runs with a half-century.
“Make Jake Fraser-McGurk sit out now. It's enough. You have tried a lot, but it's not happening. Tell him he won't be able to do it and make him sit out, and play Faf du Plessis if he is available. If he is not available, tell us why he is not available,” he said.
Why Is T Natarajan Not Playing?
During the IPL 2025 mega auction, Delhi Capitals made waves by snapping up T. Natarajan for a hefty 10.75 crore. As the fans were aiming to see some magic from the bowler, he has yet to don the DC jersey in the ongoing season.
As the bowler is still with the team and not playing the match, Aakash Chopra showcased frustration over the issue. He questioned the silence from the Delhi Capitals' management, pointing out the lack of clarity around the pacer’s availability this season.
“This is a new drama in the IPL as no one tells anyone anything, as to who would be playing and when, why someone is getting dropped, who is injured, and who is not. They haven't said anything about T Natarajan as well. They bought him for more than 10 crores. He was an expensive player. They are not telling whether he is available or not,” he added.
In the ongoing season, the Delhi Capitals have showcased their dominating form. As they are set to face the Gujarat Titans in their upcoming clash, Axar Patel and Co. will try hard to sustain their dream run.
