As the Indian fans are enjoying some unmissable T20 actions in the ongoing IPL, the red ball is coming right after the tournament wraps up. Team India is all set to face England in a thrilling five match Test series in June.

As the IPL is set to wrap up yet another thrilling season on May 25, Rohit Sharma and Co. shift their focus to the longest format. But before that, skipper Rohit Sharma is laser-focused on keeping his squad fighting fit amid the IPL chaos.

Players’ Fitness Is A Top Priority

After a forgettable Test series against Australia, Team India is all set to face England in a five match Test series to start their WTC 2025-27 cycle. With the IPL grind in full swing, the back-to-back action and constant travel could pose a challenge. As the upcoming Test series is going to be crucial, captain Rohit Sharma is still keeping the players’ fitness as the top priority aiming a successful outing.

“We need some of these guys to be 100 per cent fit. We just have to make sure they come out of the IPL really well. This is the most challenging one -- I know it's only four overs, but you play today, you travel tomorrow, and then you play again. That's the tough part, because you're travelling all across the country and playing so many games.” Rohit said.

Special Concern Over Shami And Bumrah

As the Test series is on the way, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah will be Rohit Sharma’s biggest weapons. After long injury setbacks, both the speedsters are back in the IPL. But before the red-ball battle begins, the captain is placing a strong emphasis on their fitness, hoping to keep them injury-free.

“I hope that these two guys, along with the others, finish the IPL without any concerns. If we have a fully fit team going to England, we'll have a great series there.” he said.

In recent times, Team India’s red ball form has been a concerns. After a whitewash against New Zealand at home, they lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by a 4-1 margin, dashing their WTC final hope. Now, with a fresh series ahead, Rohit Sharma and his squad are eyeing redemption. Having last won a Test series in England back in 2007, they’re fired up to script a roaring comeback.
