KL Rahul is enjoying an exceptional run with the bat this IPL 2025 season for the Delhi Capitals. With two match-winning half-centuries under his belt, Rahul will be aiming to sustain his form against his former team, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), at least as per Indian Test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara.

It is worth noting that Rahul was released by the LSG franchise prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction last year, prompting the Delhi Capitals to snap up the star wicketkeeper-batter.

Pujara believes KL Rahul will punish LSG

While speaking with the ESPNCricinfo, Indian Test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara believes that in-form Delhi Capitals star KL Rahul will be aiming to perform against his former team, the LSG in match number 40 of the IPL 2025 season.

Pujara believes that even though Rahul is a professional cricketer, past incidents tend to play in player’s mind. He said:

“I think as a professional cricketer you try and move on from what has happened in the past, but at the same time there's a little bit which always plays in your mind. So this is the team he might be wanting to perform against, but not a lot. I would say that even if it is, it'll be just 10-20% which might play on his mind, but apart from that, I don't think he will be thinking too much about performing against LSG.”

KL Rahul has so far listed 266 runs in just six innings of the IPL 2025 season, at an exceptional batting average of 53.20. The cricketer recorded two half-centuries in the process, both in match-winning causes for the Delhi Capitals.

Previously, Rahul served as the captain of the LSG franchise from IPL 2022 up until last season.
