Last night was dramatic as cricket fans witnessed the first super over of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. In the high-octane clash between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, excitement soared as the match moved towards a thrilling finish.

But the real drama picked up when the RR batters came to bat in the super over against DC. The bold call by the management not only shocked the fans, but even Mitchell Starc was stunned by the move.

Starc In Disbelief Over RR’s Super Over Strategy

While chasing the 189-run target, the Rajasthan Royals ended up balancing DC’s score within 20 overs. As the match turned towards the super over, the excitement soared high. But suddenly, RR’s strategy to sent the left-handres like Shimron Hetmyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal against Starc left the fans perplexed.

After the match concluded, Mitchell Starc opened up on the matter, confessing that Rajasthan's tactic took him a bit by surprise.

“It was a bit of a surprise to see left-handers come in with my angle as the ball was tailing back in. Got one wrong there with the side line no-ball, but we had the batting depth then to chase that down,” Starc said.

DC Seem Unmovable From Top Spot

After having an underwhelming run in the last edition, the Delhi Capitals' rise in the ongoing season is worth inspiring. Out of six matches, they have secured five victories and faced their only defeat against MI. But the last match turned out to be a classic one as they snatched the victory from the opponent with domination.

After putting up a solid 188-run total on the board, DC bounced back in style, with Starc’s last over brilliance pushing the match towards a super over. The Aussie star nailed his job, and Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul chased the target with precision.
