Dhoni makes hilarious comment on Chahar's presence
In a recent event, the great camaraderie between Dhoni and pacer Deepak Chahar came to the fore, as Dhoni revealed his lighthearted thoughts on the youngster’s maturing process. Dhoni, known for his rapport with teammates, had a plethora of amusing exchanges with Chahar during IPL 2023.
During the launch event of 'Let's Get Married,' a Tamil film produced by his production company Dhoni Entertainment, the legendary cricketer made an interesting analogy about Deepak Chahar. He compared Chahar to a drug, explaining that when he's not present, one wonders where he is, but when he is present, one questions why he is there.
“Deepak Chahar is like a drug, if he is not there, you would think, where is he - if he is around, you would think, why he is here,” said Dhoni.
The legendary cricketer quipped that Chahar is gradually maturing, but the downside is that it takes time. He playfully mentioned that he doesn't expect to witness Chahar fully mature in his lifetime.
“Good part is that he is maturing but he takes time and that is the problem, in my lifetime, I won't see him matured,” added the CSK captain.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Dhoni showcased his exceptional leadership skills once again in the IPL 2023, leading CSK to a record fifth IPL title.
While speculation remains about Dhoni's future participation in the next edition of the IPL, the cricketing legend himself has made a heartfelt promise to endeavour tirelessly for an appearance in IPL 2024.
