Ram Babu, widely recognised as MS Dhoni's biggest fan, made a heartwarming admission during a recent interaction with Sportsinfo on the sidelines of the India-New Zealand Test in Bengaluru. The devoted supporter revealed that Dhoni, fondly known as "Thala," still pays for his tickets to attend matches in India. 

MS Dhoni is one of the most iconic and successful cricketers in the history of Indian cricket. After three ICC titles, he retired from international cricket in 2020 but continues to entertain the fans in IPL playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Undoubtedly, an influential cricketer like him often enjoys a massive fan following. However, MS Dhoni is a cult leader in India, and Ram Babu from Tamil Nadu is a super fan. 

Ram Babu discloses deep connect with MS Dhoni!

During a conversation on Day 3 of the first Test between India and New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Ram Babu revealed several insights into his admiration for "Captain Cool."

He reflected on his journey of following Dhoni closely, from cheering for him during his time with CSK to continuing his support for the Indian team even after Dhoni's international retirement.

One of the most heartwarming revelations from Ram Babu was that MS Dhoni himself has been sponsoring his attendance at every Indian match played in the country. He expressed his immense gratitude and loyalty towards Dhoni, saying that his match passes have been provided by the cricketing legend.

"Mai jo Dhoni ka naam jo stadium mein leke jaata hu aur jo pass abhi tak milte aaraha hai, woh Dhoni sir ki taraf se milte aaraha hai (the name of Dhoni which I wear while visiting the various venues at which India play, the pass for attending those have been sponsored by Dhoni since quite some time)," Ram Babu told Sportsinfo.

This heartwarming connection between a super fan and his idol, MS Dhoni, further showcases the impact the former captain has had not just on the field but also in the hearts of his supporters.

MS Dhoni yet to commit to CSK for IPL 2025

MS Dhoni's future in the 2025 IPL remains uncertain as he hasn't confirmed whether he'll participate in the tournament. Reports suggest Dhoni will meet with CSK executives in mid-October 2024 to discuss his plans. Notably, the retention deadline is limited to October 31 as time is running out for CSK to make a call.
