India's rising pacer, Mayank Yadav, made a memorable T20I debut for India on October 6, 2024, in the first match of the three-match series against Bangladesh in Gwalior. The right-arm fast bowler finished with impressive figures of 1/21, marking a strong start to his international career.

Mayank Yadav, after just 4 IPL games for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was fast tracked to the Indian national team owing to his promising pace and precise line and length.

The speedster was coming off an injury and was handed the debut cap for the Gwalior T20I. However, Mayank didn't look rusty at all. He kicked off his T20I journey in style by bowling a maiden over in his debut spell.  In his second over, he claimed his first international wicket, dismissing senior Bangladeshi batter Mahmudullah, who was caught by Washington Sundar while attempting a big shot.

Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Mayank Yadav expressed his gratitude and happiness at donning the Indian jersey, calling it a "dream come true" and the "best moment" of his life. He also thanked everyone who supported him during challenging times and shared four match pictures in his post.

“The best feeling for a cricketer is to play for his country and wearing the blue jersey for me it’s like a dream come true …… this will remain the best moment of my life. I’m very grateful for God that he gave me strength and to all the people who helped me in my hard time and supported throughout.” Mayank wrote in caption.

Mayank Yadav's debut was indeed promising as India looked to benefit from his extraordinary pace. With an impressive debut, India is expected to allow more opportunities to Yadav to ensure the youngster's learning process is not hampered.

India's latest fast bowling sensation, Mayank Yadav, made a memorable impact in his T20I debut against Bangladesh in Gwalior by achieving a rare feat. He entered a rare list by becoming only the third Indian bowler to start his T20I career with a maiden over.

Ajit Agarkar, India's former bowling all-rounder and current chairman of selectors, was the first Indian to achieve this feat in 2006. Later, Arshdeep Singh replicated Agarkar's achievement when he bowled a maiden over in his T20I debut against England in 2022.
