The Konark Suryas Odisha and Toyam Hyderabad faced off in the 17th match of the LLC 2024. The Legends League Cricket brings together cricketers who have retired from the professional arena but are still enjoying being a part of the game.

Even though the stakes involved in these matches are not too high, the attitude and approach of the players are not lax. An incident that occurred during this game evidently demonstrates the seriousness with which these players are playing.

The Suryas batted first in the match and faced trouble as the wicket was not conducive to batting. The spinners were having a great time on the track. The only bright spot in their batting line-up was Dilshan Munaweera, who scored 51 runs off 51 deliveries and guided the team to 100/9 at the end of their 20 overs.

Monty Panesar tried to tease Pathan for his batting approach

Yusuf Pathan, who came to bat at the fall of the sixth wicket, had a troubled stay in the middle. He managed to score only seven runs off 18 deliveries. During his stay, Monty Panesar, a former English bowler, tried to get under his skin. The left-arm spinner bowled a good-length delivery at the stumps that was defended by Pathan to covers. After this, Panesar asked the batter, 'Are you playing Test? Hit the ball!!!'

Panesar was seen repeating his sentence a couple of times. Even though Yusuf replied with a smile at first, he came up with a reply soon. He was heard asking the bowler, 'How many Test wickets do you have?' However, it was fun banter between the two passionate cricketers.

Coming back to the game, Hyderabad managed to win by four wickets with 16 balls remaining. Gurkeerat Singh Mann led the charge for the team with 52 runs off 50 deliveries.
