On seaming conditions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, India were brave enough to bat and the decision backfired as the New Zealand bowlers ran riot and have already pushed India on the verge of no coming back.

The deadly duo of Matt Henry and promising pacer William ORourke stunned Indian batters as four of them were dismissed for ducks and the Indian side had no answer to the ruthless bowling by the Kiwi duo.

The carnage started with the wicket of Rohit Sharma, and it was followed by a pain-staking dismissal of Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for duck. Sarfaraz Khan followed him soon as India lost wickets at regular intervals. Rohit's partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal was also dismissed cheaply as the onus once again lied on the shoulders of Rishabh Pant.

The talented keeper-batter weathered the early storm, but wasn't at his fluent best on a seaming deck. From one end, William ORourke troubled him, and from the other end, he faced the wrath of Matt Henry.

With wickets falling at the other end, Pant stood firm, but his patience gave up as the southpaw nicked a Henry delivery and was dismissed for a scratchy-looking 20. Henry bowled a length ball on the middle stump and the delivery nipped away to take the outside-edge and the fielder safely pouched it in the second slip cordon.

Henry, the chief destroyer for New Zealand

Cloudy morning, seaming surface, ideal conditions for Matt Henry to run riot. He started the day with the crucial wicket of Sarfaraz Khan for duck, and followed it up with the scalp of Ravindra Jadeja, who too, was dismissed for zero as India found themselves in deep trouble.

Seems like it was raining ducks as R Ashwin, the man who scored a brilliant hundred Vs Bangladesh, was dismissed for a golden duck, with Henry claiming his third of the day. The iceing on the cake was the scalp of Pant as he was the only batter who looked a bit threatening and could have taken the game away from the Kiwis.
