In the ongoing match between England and Pakistan at the Multan Stadium, the Three Lions have responded well to the hosts' brilliance in the first innings and are on course to register a lead by the end of play on day 3.

At the time of writing this article, England are 460/3 and trail by just 100 runs. Pakistan, batting first, put 556 runs on the board. The visitors rode on centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook.

Notably, the two red-ball talismans have stitched a 200-runs plus unbeaten stand for the 4th wicket and are going strong. Root smashed his 35th Test hundred, while Brook hammered his 5th Test century.

Talking about Brook, he loves to play against Pakistan as four of his centuries have come against the Shan Masood-led side. At present, Brook is batting on 127 (148), which featured 11 fours and a solitary six.

However, there was one instance in the match, where Brook could have returned to the pavilion but luck was on his side after he survived despite the ball hitting the stumps and the bail did not dislodge.

The incident occurred on the 4th ball of the 76th over when Aamir Jamal's delivery took Brook by surprise and it hit him on the helmet grill which resulted in the ball rolling towards the stumps and hitting it.

Harry Brook: Three Centuries In Three Innings In Pakistan

Brook has been brilliant in Pakistan and it is worth noting that it is his third straight century against Pakistan in Pakistan. The last time he toured in 2022, he smashed two centuries. He scored 108 in Multan and 111 in Karachi.

He also equalled Mohinder Amarnath's feat for most centuries against Pakistan by a visiting batter. Most hundreds in Pakistan for an away batter.
