Legendary West Indies batter Chris Gayle and former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan showcased their incredible batting attributes in Gujarat Greats' (GG) ongoing encounter against Konark Suryas Odisha (KSO) in the Legends League Cricket. The talismanic batters rolled the clock back, playing breezy cameos and enthralling the spectators with their stroke play in the high-voltage clash. 

After KSO skipper Irfan Pathan won the toss and opted to bowl, Vinay Kumar provided them with a great start, dismissing Morne van Wyk for an eight-ball two. However, Dhawan and Gayle teamed up to stabilise the innings for their side, rescuing the Greats from a precarious position. 

While Gayle seemed at his destructive best, Dhawan timed the ball beautifully, making fans reminisce about the glory days. The dynamic batting duo added 57 runs for the second wicket, helping Gujarat Greats recover from the initial jitters. 


Hailed as one of the legendary figures in the IPL, Gayle struck two glorious boundaries and three monstrous sixes for his 34-run knock. Meanwhile, Dhawan smashed a crafty 23-run innings before being dismissed by Kevon Cooper.

Apart from Gayle and Dhawan's fireworks, Kevon Cooper's sensational hattrick stole the limelight in the 21st LLC 2024 fixture between the Greats and the Suryas. The Caribbean pacer, who played a pivotal role for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, bagged the crucial wickets of Gayle, Mohammed Kaif and Yashpal Singh, completing a memorable hattrick in this process. His magnificent bowling spell helped him finish with impressive figures of four for 25, while also restricting Gujarat Greats to 141 for eight in 20 overs.
