Pakistan's aggressive batter Muneeba Ali had a forgettable outing with the bat, as she was dismissed cheaply in her side's ongoing Women's T20 World Cup affair against Australia at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Opening the batting, Muneeba managed only seven runs before ace Australian spinner Sophie Molineux got her prized scalp.

The incident occurred during the fourth over of Pakistan Women's innings after Australia Women's captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bowl first. Muneeba Ali, leading Pakistan Women in Fatima Sana's absence, was expected to make an impact with the bat in the powerplay.

However, she found Sophie Molineux too hot to handle, being dismissed as her first victim of the day. From over the wicket, Molineux bowled a full-length ball just outside the off stump. As there was some room, Muneeba tried to connect her trademark slog sweep, targeting the on-side boundary.

But unfortunately, she was deceived by the left-arm spinner's guile, hitting it straight to the short midwicket, where Phoebe Litchfield timed her jump perfectly to grab a sharp catch. Thus, Muneeba, one of Pakistan's most reliable batters, departed for seven runs, leaving her team in disarray.

Pakistan Lose Three Early Wickets As Australia Get A Dream Start

Soon after Sophie Molineux outfoxed Muneeba Ali, Sadaf Shamas was removed by the legendary Megan Schutt for three runs. Their bowlers' exceptional performance has given Australia Women a rollicking start to the game as the defending champions aim to sustain their purple patch in the tournament. At the time of writing, Pakistan Women were reeling at 23 for three in 6.2 overs.
