The much-anticipated start of the first Test between India and New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru faced an unexpected delay due to rain. However, while the skies may have paused play, the crowd was in for a memorable sight as star player Virat Kohli made his way onto the field, turning a rain-soaked wait into a moment of excitement and nostalgia.

As the rain came down, grounds staff worked tirelessly to protect the pitch with covers while players and support staff patiently waited for a break in the weather. Among them was Virat Kohli, whose presence on the field electrified the crowd.

Fans Erupted In Joy As Virat Kohli Made His Presence At Chinnaswamy

Chinnaswamy Stadium is like a second home to Virat Kohli, as he has some of his best memories there during the IPL with RCB. As the former captain stepped onto the ground, he received a massive reaction from the stands. The stadium erupted with cheers, fans chanting Kohli's name in devotion to one of cricket's most celebrated figures.

Alongside Kohli, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar also made their way to the indoor practice facilities, accompanied by more KSCA officials. The team, ever-dedicated to their preparation, made the most of the weather-imposed break by joining a solid indoor training session.

As Kohli walked the field, it became more than just an inspection of the damp conditions, it was a quiet reunion with a place deeply intertwined with his cricketing journey. The Chinnaswamy Stadium is where he has experienced many unforgettable moments, from record-breaking centuries to nerve-wracking chases.

For Kohli, this ground represents more than the IPL seasons or the countless RCB games; it holds memories of both personal and professional milestones.

Meanwhile, the downpour showed no signs of easing, with intermittent showers throughout the morning session. The ground staff is working continuously to cover the pitch and surrounding areas,  it is clear that it is difficult to resume the play anytime soon. The first session was officially washed out, and the wait for the toss extended as the skies refused to clear.
