As CSK look ahead to the 2025 IPL season, uncapped talent Sameer Rizvi is emerging as a strong contender for retention. Despite limited opportunities during the 2024 season, Rizvi’s potential has impressed CSK’s management, and he could be an ideal choice for the team’s uncapped player retention slot.

He was acquired for a significant ₹8.4 crores during the 2024 IPL auction and had limited chances to prove himself in a competitive season. The 20-year-old played eight innings, scoring 51 runs with a strike rate of 118.60. 

While those numbers may not stand out, Rizvi showed glimpses of his capabilities, displaying a solid technique and a calm temperament, qualities that could prove invaluable as he matures in the league.
