At one stage, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were tottering at 42/9 and stared at their lowest total in IPL history. Tim David joins DK in elite list
He notched up his maiden fifty in 26-balls and the innings was laced with 5 fours and 3 sixes as he blasted Harpreet Brar for 21 in the last over to push RCB towards a decent score. With his whirlwind knock, David entered an elite list.
He became just the second RCB batter after Dinesh Karthik to score a 50-plus total in IPL batting at number 7 or below.
The first batter from RCB to create this record was their current batting coach, Dinesh Karthik, who achieved the feat Vs DC at Wankhede in the 2022 season.
Tim David IPL price
RCB let go off Will Jacks who went to Mumbai Indians and decided to buy the hard-hitting David for a steal price of INR 3 crore. Interestingly, he started his IPL career with RCB, but was released ahead of the 2022 season when Mumbai Indians bought his services.
The batter has been in fine form this season as he continues to play crucial innings. In 7 matches he has 142 runs, with an astonishing strike rate of 194.25.
At the time of writing, PBKS need 51 off 50 with 8 wickets in hand, and with captain Shreyas Iyer still at the crease.
