The maverick Indian wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant continues to rise in Test cricket as he played yet another blinder in the ongoing Bengaluru Test Vs New Zealand. The Indian side had a mountain to climb in the second innings and the onslaught was led by Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan.

Despite getting dismissed for a paltry 46 in their first innings, the Indian Test side roared back in style as they made a strong comeback and pushed New Zealand on the back-foot. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored their respective half-centuries, but the stars of the show were Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant.

The duo added more than 100-runs and scored them at a quick-rate. In the process, Sarfaraz Khan went onto register his maiden Test century, and was dismissed for a brilliant 150. Pant, on the other hand was all set for his 7th Test century, but disaster struck when New Zealand knocked him for a well-compiled 99.

Pant attains unwanted record equalling MSD

With his dismissal at 99, Pant became just the second Indian keeper, after the great MS Dhoni to be dismissed at this score in Test cricket. While Pant attained the unwanted feat Vs New Zealand, MS Dhoni achieved it against England during the famous 2012 tour.

During that game, MS Dhoni was all set to breach the 100-run mark, but he was run-out by Alastair Cook on 99.

New Zealand crawl back in the contest with quick wickets

India were cruising along with Pant and Sarfaraz taking on the Kiwi attack with ease. However, once Sarfaraz departed, things started to crumble as Pant got dismissed for 99, and KL Rahul followed him soon for a low score.

Suddenly from 408/3, India lost 3 quick wickets as they are currently at 438/6, still leading by 82 runs.
