Jack Leach has been England's premier spinner for the last couple of years and has grown quite a lot as a left-arm spinner. He missed out some home Tests due to injury in 2024, but is now back in the mix and on a turning pitch for the second Test, he has started off with a bang for his side picking wickets of last Test centurions, Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood.

He got those two wickets in the initial 10 overs and with it he became the first English bowler to picked two wickets in the first 10 overs of the Test since 1889. The last English spinner to achieve this feat was Johnny Briggs and it speaks a lot about the rarity of the record that Jack Leach unlocked.

Saim Ayub And Kamran Ghulam Bring Stability After Early Hiccups

The second Test match between England and Pakistan is being played on the same pitch on which the first Test was played. It is a turning deck and Pakistan are going with three frontline spinners while England are playing two. So, Jack Leach was introduced very early in the attack and he cleaned up Abdullah Shafique with a beauty in just the eighth over of the match.

The Pakistan skipper Shan Masood was then sent back in the 10th over as Zak Crawley grabbed a brilliant low catch. Pakistan were reduced to 19-2 and it looked like English spinners would run through Pakistan's batting line-up. However, the debutant Kamran Ghulam and young opener Saim Ayub displayed lot of character and the duo has taken Pakistan to safer shores with their respective fifties.
